The Beginning of a New Era
        April, 2008

Greetings! I hope this newsletter finds you relaxing in the sun and enjoying the pleasantries of summer. It is that time of year again to begin thinking about the start of new school year. As we start this year, our school is embarking on a New Era. For the first time in fourteen years, a new administrative team will be leading Floyd Central High School. Mrs. Whaley, Mr. Willman and I are looking forward to our new positions and the challenges that face us as we strive to continue the school excellence created by the Marsh administration. Although our administrative team may be new to our positions, we have over 20 years in administrative experience at FCHS. We accept this challenge and look forward to serving you this school year. We have an “Open Door” policy in communicating with parents. Please feel free to make contact with us at any time to discuss any concerns your student may be having at school.

Our building is also entering a New Era as a result of the building renovation project. Construction is in full operation since the end of school this past year. We are expecting the art rooms and the NJROTC classrooms to be completed by September 1st, and Phase One (two-story rotunda, band and orchestra rooms) is still slated to be completed by April 1, 2009. One change you will notice immediately is the lack of student parking that will be available this year. This is a concern and we will be monitoring this situation very closely during the first month of school. Hopefully, we will not have to limit the number of student drivers during the school year.

I look forward to working with you this school year. See you at registration.
