In the last decade, Floyd Central has been repeatedly recognized as an outstanding high school at the state and national level. For the years 1994- 1996 Floyd Central was one of twelve schools in Indiana to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education. In the spring of 2002, Floyd Central was again recognized as a National School of Excellence, one of just seven Indiana schools to be named a Blue Ribbon School. Floyd Central has been named an Indiana Four Star School twelve times.
Performing Arts
Floyd Central has a diverse program in performing arts. It is easily one of the best programs in the nation when it comes to quality performances.
Athletics
Floyd Central houses an athletic program that year in and year out contends on the conference, state, and national level through a variety of programs and teams.
NJROTC - Honor, Courage, Commitment
The Mission of the Navy JROTC program is to prepare students (Cadets) for life after high school graduation. We accomplish this mission by providing a team- like environment where all Cadets have a sense of wroth as they learn moral values, organizational skills, responsibility, citizenship, and leadership.
Floyd Central offers a variety of Visual Art courses, including AP Studio Art. Students compete on a national level, and have received multiple awards and recognitions in the Congressional Show, Project Excel, as well as Scholastic Art competitions.
